Privacy Policy

What we do not collect

You do not need an account to use FineRx, and there is no sign-up, login, or profile. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, insurance details, or precise location. We do not ask for and do not store the specific medications you personally take.

We do not use third-party advertising pixels, social media trackers, or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell or share personal or health information with anyone — there is no such data to sell.

If you use the “find a pharmacy nearby” feature, the ZIP code, address, or device location you provide is used only to calculate distances to nearby pharmacy locations for that request: we do not save it to our database, do not link it to you or to the medication you were looking at, and do not send it to our analytics. When you search by address, the text is forwarded from our server to an OpenStreetMap-based geocoding service so your device's IP address is never shared with it. As with any request, the URL of that lookup — which carries the ZIP or address — appears in the operational server log described below.

First-party analytics

To understand which features are useful and where the site is slow or confusing, we record a small set of anonymous usage events on our own servers. These are first-party only: the analytics data never leaves our infrastructure, and no third-party analytics provider or product is used. We do not use advertising pixels or social-media trackers anywhere on the site.

Each event records, at most:

• the type of page involved (for example, home, drug, or compare);
• which medication or price was viewed, referenced by our internal drug identifier — never your typed search text;
• which feature was used (for example, that a discount card was printed, emailed, or texted, a filter was changed, or a nearby-pharmacy lookup was run) — as a plain action label, with no drug name attached;
• an anonymous session identifier (described below);
• a coarse device class and the language of the page.

We deliberately do not store your IP address, user agent string, exact search queries, or any free-text you type. When you search, we send only a resolved medication identifier once you select a result — not the characters you typed.

The anonymous session identifier

FineRx sets a single anonymous session identifier — a random value with no meaning outside our analytics counts. It is stored in your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie) and is automatically rotated every day, so it cannot be used to follow you over time or across sites. Because we do not use advertising or cross-site cookies, FineRx does not require a cookie consent banner.

Server logs

Like most websites, our servers keep operational logs to detect abuse and keep the service running. Each line records the requested URL, the response status, and the browser's user-agent string, with the IP address truncated or omitted by our logging configuration. Because the line holds the full URL, it can contain whatever a request carried in its address — a ZIP code, for example. These logs are used only for security and reliability, are never joined to our analytics, and are never used to profile visitors. Our application's own request log records the path only, never the query string.

Data retention

Anonymous analytics events are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted or aggregated into non-identifying totals. Anonymized operational logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

Your privacy rights (CCPA and other state laws)

Because we do not collect personal information tied to your identity, there is generally no personal profile to access, correct, or delete. Even so, residents of California and other U.S. states with comparable privacy laws may exercise their rights — including the right to know, delete, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. To make a request or ask a question, email privacy@finerxfinder.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Children

FineRx is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
